Our Story

Following three years of meetings, fundraising, building design and countless working bees, Pinemont Pre-School was officially opened in April 1966 by the local member of Parliament, Mr. W Manson, in the presence of the Mayor, other officials and a group of eager parents. The spirit of community and dedication still surrounds the pre-school today.

Today Pinemont is run by a dedicated parent committee that volunteers their time to see that the kinder is the best it can be in all areas including administration, resources, quality programming and social connections.

Parental involvement is welcomed and is the backbone of Pinemont Pre-School, as it was over 50 years ago.

Our well qualified, enthusiastic staff provide a fun, creative pre-school program in a caring and stimulating environment. The happiness and positive self esteem of our children is paramount.

Our Story

Pinemont Pre-school believes in valuing respect as an integral part of our centre and it underlies all interactions, procedures & policies of the centre.

We believe that children, families and staff develop a sense of belonging to the centre, and actively encourages the involvement of families in all aspects of their child's care.

We acknowledge the importance of the early childhood years and the value of play and our role in a young child’s development. We encourage open-ended play experiences that enable children to develop their problem solving skills and physical abilities.

We value and encourage open and sincere/respectful communication between children, families and staff. We believe that greater understanding comes from positive communication.

Co-operation and team work are vital aspects of providing quality care for children and a fulfilling workplace for staff. We encourage children, staff and families to work together as a team to the enhancement of our centre.

We believe in equality and that all children, families and staff should be able to access our service, regardless of gender, country of origin, religion or physical ability.  We recognise and respect the importance of the cultural backgrounds of our children, families, staff and our community.

Educating children on the conservation of our environment is an important part of our planning and will be incorporated into our program. Using natural resources will also encourage an appreciation of the environment and lower our impact.
